Anyone may register for the Arizona EVP Championships but the available spots are based on priority before the deadlines:
August 31st Deadline - Men's 2's A, Men's 2's B (two separate tournaments) & Women's 2's A, Women's 2's B (two separate tournaments) & Coed 2's AA/A.
September 7th Deadline - Men's 2's AAA/AA & Women's 2's AAA/AA.
September 21st Deadline - Coed 2's A/B
All players are eligible to play in a higher division but open spots will be prioritized by finalists, average points per game, and then first registered before the deadline. Average points per game is based on one more game than half of the total Arizona EVP events and leagues offered for 2012. Players are ranked by performance as long as they played one more than half of the total tournaments offered. Players are ranked by participation if they registered for half or less than half of the total tournaments. The whole Arizona EVP season consisted of AAA/AA or A/B tournaments on the weekends and AA/A leagues running during the week but for the Arizona EVP Championships there will be 4 separate divisions:
AAA
Up to 16 teams in AAA may register for the Championships; however, priority is given first to EVP card holders, second AAA tournament finalists, third total average points, and then first registered after the deadline. After the deadline, any EVP cardholder with points may register.
AA
Due the number of "AA" players that are requesting to participate in the AAA tournament, a AA tournament will scheduled on a different date to be determined. The reason why we say (quote) "AA" players is because most of the AA players are recognized and respected as AAA players. The goal of the Arizona EVP is to establish 4 divisions, so A players are not playing AA/AAA players and AA players will play AA tournaments (minus players that are reaching the AAA final).
A
Up to 10 teams may register for the A Championships. No player that has reached the AA league final or registered for a AAA/AA tournament without previously registering in an A/B tournament is eligible to play A. Any team with the same players that have reached 3 finals is also not eligible to play A. Priority is given first to EVP card holders, second total average points, and then first registered after the deadline. After the deadline, any EVP cardholder with points other than the exceptions mentioned above may register.
B
Up to 10 teams may register for the B Championships. No player that has gone to the A or B final or played a AA league is eligible to play B. Priority is given first to EVP card holders, second total average points, and then first registered after the deadline. After the deadline, any EVP cardholder with points other than the exceptions mentioned above may register.
As far as for coed, there will remain just 2 divisions: AA/A and A/B.
AA/A
Up to 16 teams may register for the AA/A Coed Championship. There are 2 requirements: 1.) Both players must have played at least one coed 2's Arizona EVP event or coed 2's league; 2.) Both players must be EVP cardholders; in order to play in the Arizona EVP AA/A Coed Championship tournament. Teams with the most overall point percentage will have priority until the deadline. After the deadline, it is a first come, first serve bases.
A/B
Up to 16 teams may register for the A/B Coed Championship. No player that has gone to the AA league or tournament final is eligible to play A/B coed. There are 2 requirements: 1.) Both players must have played at least one coed 2's Arizona EVP event or coed 2's league; 2.) Both players must be EVP cardholders; in order to play in the Arizona EVP A/B Coed Championship tournament. Teams with the most overall point percentage will have priority until the deadline. After the deadline, it is a first come, first serve bases.
